Colorado State University is proud of its efforts to enhance, appreciate, and support diversity and multiculturalism as part of its mission as a land-grant institution of higher education. Below are a selection of offices designed to support students in a variety of ways and provide opportunities to successfully participate in, and contribute to, the diverse campus environment. While each office listed may emphasize a specific segment of the student body, services and programs are available to benefit all students at CSU.
Asian Pacific American Cultural Center
The Asian Pacific American Cultural Center works to make CSU a safe and supportive space for Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, Asian American (including Southeast Asian, Desi, adopted, mixed-race) students and other historically marginalized communities. The Center is focused on building community, working to remove barriers, and providing access to resources to support students in finding fulfillment and success while at CSU and beyond.
Black/African American Cultural Center (B/AACC)
The Black/African American Cultural Center promotes a diverse, inclusive campus environment and serves as a resource to the campus community as well as surrounding communities, through academic, professional, cultural and personal development programs that embrace Black and African American experiences. The primary goal is to enhance the overall college experience so that students achieve academically and are able to compete in a global society.
The office has as one of its foremost goals to enhance students’ knowledge of the culture, history, heritage, and traditions that are unique to the African American experience.
We are committed to improving the cultural and social awareness of the University, alumni, and surrounding communities by promoting programs that offer cross-cultural perspectives and by creating mutual opportunities for exchange through cooperative planning and support for all University services.
El Centro
The mission of El Centro is to provide support for the Latinx community at CSU and Fort Collins. We do this by encouraging student engagement, academic success, cultural pride, empowerment, and volunteer/leadership opportunities. We strive to promote an inclusive environment that focuses on awareness and understanding of the Latinx experience.
Native American Cultural Center (NACC)
The Native American Cultural Center (NACC) office was established in 1979. Our mission is to ensure a successful educational experience for students by providing support and services related to recruitment, retention, graduation, and community outreach. The office embraces and encourages a supportive environment based on the traditions and cultures of Native American peoples.
Pride Resource Center
The Pride Resource Center provides resources and support for all CSU community members to explore and increase their understanding of sexual/romantic orientation, gender, and identity intersection.
We support and affirm the diverse identities and lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning (LGBTQ), Two-Spirit, and same gender loving people as individuals and as groups, especially as students, staff, and faculty of CSU and their families, friends, and allies, by the cultivation of safe space, educational outreach, advocacy, visibility of LGBTQ issues, information and referral, and academic and leadership opportunities.
The Pride Resource Center seeks to foster a campus free of prejudice, bigotry, harassment, and violence by providing a space for all members of CSU communities to explore and increase their understanding of aspects related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression in an open and nonjudgmental environment.
Survivor Advocacy and Feminist Education Center
Survivor Advocacy and Feminist Education Center Center provides programs and resources focusing on all genders, social justice, and interpersonal violence prevention. Additionally, SAFE provides advocacy and support for victims of sexual violence, stalking, sexual harassment and relationship violence. Our purpose is to provide a safe and affirming space for the students we serve at Colorado State University, while supporting systemic change to end all forms of oppression within our community.
