The Student Disability Center team is made up of both full-time and part-time professional and student staff members. Our team is comprised of our director, assistant directors, accommodation specialists, coordinators, American Sign Language interpreters, transcribers, student staff, and academic coaches.
Justin Dove

Justin became director of the SDC in December 2020, leaving his home state of Missouri for CSU. He has his master’s degree in student affairs in higher education from Missouri State University. He began his professional career in the Disability Center at the University of Missouri as an exams coordinator and access advisor. After five years, he became director of the Disability Resource Center at his alma mater. Justin has been a competitive bowler for most of his life. He loves game shows, enjoys cooking, working out, and taking random road trips in his jeep.
Joe Tiner

Joe is a first-generation college graduate. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from CSU. He has held a few different roles at CSU, including positions at the Assistive Technology Resource Center, Office of Support and Safety Assessment, and with the Student Success Initiatives. During his time as a student Joe worked at the SDC and utilized accommodations. He is originally from Arvada, Colorado. Outside of work Joe enjoys going to concerts, baking, and photography.
Alisha Zmuda

Alisha started working at the SDC in 2015 as a course transcriber and was hired into her current role as coordinator of alternative testing accommodations in 2017. Originally from Colorado Springs, Alisha come to Fort Collins for college and received her Bachelor’s of Fine Art with a concentration in drawing from CSU in 2012. Outside of work, Alisha enjoys fishing, hiking, reading, creating art.
Brittany Čanji

Brittany is a CSU alumna having graduated with her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts with an Anthropology minor. She has served as an avid advocate for members of the disabled community both professionally and in her personal life for over the last ten years. You can often find her in the garden, striving towards increased sustainability by cultivating her own foods and improving the home. Outside of work she can be found in local vintage boutiques rummaging for historical treasures, working on cars in the garage, and spending ample time in the great outdoors.

Alexandra moved to Colorado with my family 10 years ago from New Mexico, where she was primarily raised. Alexandra completed high school here and is a first-generation CSU graduate, having graduated in spring 2023 with my B.A. in political science and a minor in legal studies. In her free time you can find me baking, crocheting, reading, or watching reality TV.
Alison Shimoda

Alison grew up in Maryland but spent several summers in Colorado visiting family members over the years. In 2021, Alison moved from the East Coast to pursue a master’s degree in counseling psychology at the University of Denver which she completed in June of 2023. While completing her master’s, Alison worked in Student Disability Services at DU and gained experience working in higher education to promote social justice, equity, and inclusion. Outside of CSU, Alison continues to support destigmatizing mental health and emphasizing the intersections of identity while working at a local counseling center. When not working, Alison loves to read a new book, watch documentaries, and spend time lounging with her cat, Juniper!
Annie Cunningham

Annie’s hometown is Fort Collins but she left Colorado to explore Oregon and Kansas before returning back home in 2019. She has both her Undergraduate and Masters degrees from University of Kansas in Special Education. She has spent most of her career working in K-12 public education with Poudre School District, but is thrilled to be a part of higher education! She is joining an extensive Ram family as her father is a CSU graduate and both her partner and younger brother are current students on campus. In her free time she enjoys fishing, camping, crafting, and spending time with her cats and 60+ houseplants.
Bailey Mellott

Bailey has worked in education for the past 4 years, with the last year and a half spent working to support students with disabilities at the high school level. She is currently working on CSU’s MA program in Sociology with a focus in social justice, inequality, and governance and plans to graduate in fall 2023. Bailey enjoys spending time with her 2 rescue dogs, kayaking on Horsetooth reservoir, cycling around town, and spending time with friends and family. Bailey moved from Virginia to Fort Collins in 2017 after completing her undergraduate degree in Sociology, with minors in Psychology and Leadership Studies and is excited to be working with CSU supporting our students.

Elizabeth grew up in Iowa but made the move to Colorado with her partner to be closer to family. She began her professional career in higher education and disability in 2018. She has held positions in student success coaching, vocational rehabilitation services, and disability accommodation offices. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys baking bread from scratch, hiking with her dog Oban, reading books in a hammock, and hosting friends and family for dinner.

Krissy was born in San Francisco but has lived in Colorado most of her life (aside from a few years in Oregon). She is a CSU alumna, where she majored in Human Development and Family Studies, then went straight to graduate school at CU Denver for a Master’s in Special Education, while also getting her dual teaching licensure. She has spent most of her career working in K-12 public education but is excited to be a Ram again and to help students at a postsecondary level! Aside from work, Krissy loves to be outside, cook with her partner, binge on Disney movies, create crafts/art, and cuddle on the couch with her dog, Peanut (Corgi mix).
Lynsey Fenter

Lynsey has worked in the disability field in varying roles for five years. After receiving her undergrad from the University of Idaho in 2019 she knew that she wanted to pursue a graduate degree. She and her partner made the move to Fort Collins in the summer of 2021 and have enjoyed their time so far! Lynsey is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work and will graduate in the spring of 2023. Outside of work, Lynsey enjoys spending time in nature, trying new food, and spending time with loved ones.
Caroline Webb

Caroline grew up in Austin, Texas but her family frequently visited Colorado. In 2014 she ended up attending CSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Realizing how much she loved being in Fort Collins, she decided to stick around and is now part of CSU’s sociology graduate program, where she studies green criminology and how it relates to disability. She originally joined the SDC as a student staff in 2016, where she discovered her passion for working in the field of disability and advocacy, particularly in the context of supporting disabled students in higher education. She served in a variety of roles over the years before joining the team professionally in 2022. Aside from work, Caroline loves visiting her family, spending time with her partner, finding new documentaries to watch, and playing with her endlessly entertaining dog and two cats

John Fast

John’s CSU and familial roots reach back to when his grandfather was Director of the CSU Research Foundation back in the 60’s and 70’s. Then again when his parents met as Resident Assistants, in the mid-70’s. He continued the Family Ram tradition when he attended CSU in the middle aughts. Having been co-captain of the Logging Sports Team and graduating with a Bachelors in Psychology, he then went on to become a nationally certified American Sign Language Interpreter and gained over a decade’s worth of experience in a myriad of roles in his field. That experience includes having been an ASL Interpreter at CSU for 7 years. John claims that he owes most of his professional and personal success in large part to his brilliant, strong, and humorous wife. John likes to spend his time outside of CSU with his wife and their two children, usually skipping rocks in the Poudre River.
