Temporary Disabilities or Injuries

Arm/Wrist/Hand Injury

Our office can provide accommodations to students who injure their arm, wrist, or hand.

Accommodations for these types of injuries may include:

  • Extended time on exams and quizzes
  • Scribe for exams and quizzes
  • Assistive technology for note-taking and completing assignments
  • Assistance in laboratory settings

Students who are absent from class due to an injury are encouraged to contact Student Case Management. SCM will assist in the process of notifying instructors about the students’ absence. SCM does require documentation of injury before notifying instructors.

Leg/Ankle/Foot Injury

Our office can provide accommodations to students who injure their leg, ankle, or foot.

Accommodations for these types of injuries may include:

  • Transportation around campus
  • Wheelchair rental
  • Classroom relocation to an accessible location

Students who are absent from class due to an injury are encouraged to contact Student Case Management. SCM will assist in the process of notifying instructors about the students’ absence. SCM does require documentation of injury before notifying instructors.

Concussions

Our office can provide accommodations to students with concussions.

Accommodations for this type of injury may include:

  • Extended time on exams and quizzes
  • Assistance with note-taking
  • Short extensions on assignments

Students who are absent from class due to a concussion are encouraged to contact Student Case Management. SCM will assist in the process of notifying instructors about the students’ absence. SCM does require documentation of injury before notifying instructors.

Other Injuries

Our office can offer accommodations for students who acquire other types of injuries that impact their ability to complete their school work or have equal access to the campus or learning environment.
